Ashweeja is a Research Officer with the National Suicide Research Foundation and the National DBT Training Team. Ashweeja joined the NSRF and The National DBT Training team in 2024 as a part of a collaborative project with aims to evaluate the implementation of the modular DBT training model in adults, child and adolescent mental health services across Ireland. 

Ashweeja has a background in psychology having graduated with a Postgraduate diploma (Conversion) in Psychology from University of Galway in 2021. She continued her education from University College Cork, graduating with a MA in Applied Psychology (Mental Health) in 2023.

Prior to joining the NSRF, Ashweeja worked in gender-based violence specifically in refuges for women and children experiencing domestic abuse. Ashweeja’s research interest lies in women’s health, trauma, and the implementation of evidence-based intervention as well as the role and importance of research in clinical practice.
