Maeve joined the NSRF team in March 2024 and is the Data Manager for the HSE National Clinical Programme for Self-Harm and Suicidal-related Ideation. She has extensive experience in nutritional science and public health and holds a PhD and BSc in Nutrition Science from University College Cork (UCC), along with a Postgraduate Diploma in Pharmaceutical Regulatory Science also from UCC, completed in 2023.
Maeve has a rich background in both clinical and research settings, having trained as a dietitian in the USA and worked in several hospitals, including St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. Her international experience extends to roles at Danone Nutricia Research and Unilever R&D in the Netherlands and the UK.
Maeve’s expertise lies in data management systems, data analysis, nutritional epidemiology and scientific communication. She has authored numerous publications across diverse fields such as food consumption, skin aging, childhood cancer, enteral nutrition, and pharmacoepidemiology.
In her current role, she is particularly interested in implementing online data capture systems to improve the quality of data collection and data analysis.
