
Leigh began working with the NSRF as a Research Officer in 2024. She has contributed to several projects including the evaluation of a Talking Therapies Model of Care and the impact of inpatient Specialist Rehabilitation Units.
Leigh is also currently completing her PhD in University College Dublin’s School of Psychology. Her PhD research focuses on public perceptions of the social determinants of mental health, and explores the links between causal attributions for mental health conditions and stigma in members of the public. She obtained a BSc in Psychology from University College Dublin in 2021. Leigh has authored multiple peer-reviewed publications, is the recipient of several research grants including an Irish Research Council GOI Postgraduate Scholarship, and has presented her research at multiple international conferences.
Leigh’s research interests involve utilising diverse methodologies to address topics relating to stigma, the social epidemiology of mental health and suicide, and psychosocial approaches to mental health, suicide reduction, and mental healthcare.
